------------- “There are demons…and then there are demons…”





“…..People change as time goes by, why do people change?…change…and….also…die..”


   Yoko sit on top Hitome’s roof top, she had invited him to stay with her for a little. “Yoko, are you there?” Hitome’s soft voice asked, as he walked out on the balcony porch.  “Yeah…I’m here….” he said not even glancing at her.

  “I’ve made you some rice balls!” she smiled. “….” Yoko slowly turned to her and slid and jumped of the roof and landed on his feet safely beside her. Hitome was finely getting used to Yoko being different.
  “haha…..this city still smells like it did four years ago!” he smirked as he took on of the balls of the plate and begin eating it. “…Uhm… Lord Yoko…I was wondering….why do you hate demons so much? I mean…n-not to sound rude but……back when you freed your self, you said no demon was worth letting live…” she said. “I just mean….a-aren’t you a demon?”

  “….” Yoko swallowed the lat bit of his rice ball. “…Cut the master or lord crap, my names Yoko! But….yeah…I’ve always hated demons, my---- some one I used to know was a demon…he once said he was going to kill me…..those priests thought I was possessed by a demon! I wasn’t, I WAS NOT!! A-and I didn’t even try to kill her!!!!!!!” Yoko yelled, “Grrr…..” he turned away from Hitome and leaned over the railing and looked at the ground….then back up at the stars. “Yoko I’m sorry if I upset you….” Hitome said setting the plate of snacks down on the table. “nah…its not you….just….don’t worry about it…” he sighed. “Yoko I believe you! Its ok…think about it, if every one thinks your dead then Y-Yoko should start fresh! Why not I-- err Yoko, why not?! You can find your new path and prove them wrong!” Hitome nodded and put her hand on his shoulder.

  “uhg…” Yoko’s eyes lit up a little, as he turned to her….. “Hitome….who are you!?” his heart throbbed. “I’m no one…I’m just a girl, named Hitome.” she laughed. “so what should I do?! Get a job?, Nope I don’t think so! I’m a samurai not a dang coworker!” Yoko yelled with his hand on his hip. “Heh ok, ok!” she smiled. “Well I don’t think any one would hire a man in a loin cloth to work!” ‘haha very funny…’ he smirked sarcastically. Hitome blushed “Come with me!” she smiled and ran back inside the house, he fallowed her to a room he was yet to be in.

  It was a normal room, it did to seem that of a young man’s but why was there no sign of anyone being there in a while?  
  Hitome was digging through a dresser dour, “here!” she tossed him a pair of old blue jeans, and an old black mussel shirt. “Yeah…ok?” Yoko soon changed and came back in “I’m not a full demon…yet not even half demon…nor human…I will find out who did this….and they will pay!” he yelled. “Yoko….you can transform back in order to fight I guess…but….please----” ‘Yeah I know, I know….Thanks Hitome.” Yoko smiled. ‘Waite Hitome…who’s room was this, why is it so empty?” he asked. “…hehe It’s my brother’s room, hah he is away at college, were just saving it for him!” she smiled. “…A brother…you say….” he looked down as he left the room.


  “…” Hitome looked down….. “Sadly….my brother wont return…” she said to herself. Then caught up to him. Hitome sat by him on the porch once more.

             “It’s really lovely out tonight……”

  “You will learn to like this city!” Hitome smiled as the two walked down the street.  “…..” Yoko looked about the area not listen to her one bit! ‘There are demons every where yet there not eating people haha and what a bunch out pathetic demons they are! Not a lone of them can be over a 5th class demon!” Yoko laughed.  “Yoko, what are you talking about?” Hitome asked and stopped as he walked up to her. “A 5th level what’s not to get?” he smirked. “..uhmmm….hehe” she was sweat dropped. “ Ahg….Demons powers can be judged by there auras and that also tells you how powerful they are, there are grades 1-5 1st being the most powerful and 5th being the weakest! Get it now?” he asked with his hands in his pockets. “Uhm, I think so but I can’t since there auras, hehe I only know a demon when I see it in its scary form.” she joked.

“So there are demons every where, but they take the form of humans and don’t do anything wrong, so why are they so evil?” she asked looking to him. “hah, that’s what I and the rest of my group were trained to do, to keep a eye on them, you see a lot of demons that look like humans, not a none of them recall that they were ever a demon, and that’s fine, but when they recall, they always end up hurting others, so that was are job you just make sure to keep the bad demons dead, and the ‘good’ ones in control….” Yoko says then shrugged his shoulders.

  “Wow you really did have an important job….” Hitome blinked then look strait ahead once more. “Yoko I’m hungry lets stop by here, get a few subs then have a picnic in the park!” she smiled. “uhg… ok sure what ever you go inside I will stay here and Waite.” he said. “ok.” she nodded and ran  inside and waited in line.

  Yoko leaned on the wall outside and waited. “dang it….this nose it driving me crazy! Dang demonic power!” he kicked a pole…. “Huh!?” suddenly his body pulsed. “w-what was that?! Uhg….is that the smell of a demon?! And what the----- I-it’s a level 4! It seems!” he gasped then swiftly looked about. “Ahg…I-its not my problem I’m not in that job department anymore!” he yelled. “….” Yoko leaned back on the wall his nose in the air…then he hears a demon’s roar in the distance! “Ahg….” Yoko tried to fight the instinct to go fight…but why should he, why should he risk his life trying to do what led to were he is now! And help the people who killed him!!

  “Dang it! I won’t do it for them, but for the other people in the city!” he yelled. “I will catch up with Hitome later!!!” he jumped onto the roof then darted towards the sent. As he did so his gauntlets appeared sharper…. “Its funny…that I want to help people instead of getting them back for what they did to me.”

  Hitome soon waked out of the shop with a bag that had there lunch inside. “Ok I’ve got are---- Y-Yoko?! Where did he go?!” she gasped and looked about but there was no sign of him. “Ahg! He ditched me?!” she wondered.  “Yoko! Where are you?” she called as she walked down the street searching for him, but still….no such luck.


  “Yoko…that’s not fair!” she mumbled under her breath. “Uhg?!” she suddenly got a strange vibe, she slowly turned to look at the church in the middle of town. “that’s strange…I don’t think I’ve been there before…oh! Maybe Yoko is inside, I don’t know he may be praying!” she smiled and rushed over to the door but slowly entered.

  “wow…” Inside was kind of dark but it was a really large church, it very lovely too. Yet it seemed as if no one was around. “h-hello a-any one here?” she asked trying not to be to loud, no one said a word, so she slowly entered the place. “hello….” a soft gentile voice said. “HUH!?” Hitome jumped and readied herself. “its all right.” he smiled as he stepped out of the shadows. “Well hello there, I am Zero the priest of this church, Welcome.” he smiled.

“Hi, I’m Hitome.” she smiled unknowing…that at this moment…things would become legend….every thing…would become so vital…

“Wait…” Hitome blinked as she looked at him….she saw his pointed ears, and claws. Zero had long gray hair with bangs and also he wore a deep purple and blue kimono, with a lot of lovely sash. “y-your….a-a Demon!” she gasped and begin to back away. “…”

“Worry not Hitome, I’m not a threat to you…please don’t go, you are great company to me, some times I get so lonely…”he sighed. “…I feel like your telling me the truth…I’m not sure why, but you are a demon, but aren’t all demons evil?” she asks. “Well then lets talk, well, well, how about I tell you something if you share with me what’s in the bag?” he smiled as he pointed at the bag in her hand. “Huh? Oh this? O-Oh ok sure, its getting soggy anyways….Oh! No wait I brought food in a church and didn’t even realize I didn’t ask! Oh I’m so sorry!” she gasped. “haha…” Zero shook his head. “Its all right.” she smiled.

  They walked over to a few small tables.

“Mmm! This is really good, its been a wile since I’ve had food like this! Oh yes don’t worry I will pay you  back!” he smiled warmly. “hehe Enjoy!” she laughed. “Oh yeah….as you asked me if all demons were vile, my reply yes and no, there are demons…then there are demons…I try to think I’m not one of the bad kind, you see the term demon refers to monster or creature and some times in other areas of this word Dragons and creatures that can’t be explained. And then…there are real demons the kind that hurt people from the fires in the earth, but….a demon may or may not take the form of a monster, they can be anything I just believe there are demons and demons more like the good ones know they are not truly vile.” Zero stated. “wow….” Hitome smiled “I never thought of it like that…” she then took a sip of her drink.

“Mr. Zero…uhm…..I’ve been thinking….hehe Would you happen to have a twin brother, I swear you look just like some one I know!” she asked. “A twin brother? No I’m sorry.” he gave a small smile as he begin to pick up his mess. “Hummm……HUH!? O-Oh no! I forgot! I have to go find him! Before he leaves for sure!” she gasped as she quickly stood and rushed to wards the door. “uhg?!” Zero looked at her oddly. “Who? Who are you looking for?” ‘uh, his names Yoko, do you know if he might come here?” she asked. “…” Zero’s eyes were wide at his back was to Hitome….. ‘Yoko………Uhm…..” he closed his eyes. “No he would never come here, come I wish to go with you, I will help you search for your friend.” he smiled.

“uhg?! Well if your sure! Thanks, that would help a lot!” she smiled.

for Yoko….who Zero seemed
know more then he let on.

  “Yoko!!!” Hitome called. But nothing. “Humm….” Zero looked about, Zero was quite but nice that’s what mattered, and he talked when you needed him to the most. “Humm…I since a demonic aura towards the park, its about a level 4, Hitome it your friend a demon?” Zero asked. “Well I-I….uhg….no  I guess not really, wait a demon aura!? Where? I bet he went after it!” she gasped. “uhh….towards the park, lets go, but be careful!” Zero stated as the two ran that way.

  Hey its me Yoko yeah that’s right…what!? Why did Zero have to come into the story!? AHHHH! Well darn it…aww man and he got my lunch! Grrr….HITOME!!!!!!!

  Anyway in the next chapter of Demon X we have a ‘happy little family reunion…yeah right….then a demon  appears to eat me?! Ow…man…what a day….wait ----what was that!? AHHH Zero get back here and say that to my face!
